After 30 years in the creative arts as an editor, writer, publisher, and manager, I took a significant risk and followed a new path. Fearful and with a healthy degree of anxiety, I returned to school, receiving a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in 2011.
I trained at Southern California Counseling Center, where I worked with individuals, couples, families, and teens, and led support and process groups. I participated in an intensive family-training program, was a counselor in the Los Angeles Unified School District, and was part of an intensive outreach and trauma-informed counseling program at the Watts Labor Community Action Committee and other community organizations. In addition, I have training in the Trauma Resiliency Model, and extensive experience leading groups in an Intensive Outpatient Program for adults and seniors.
